PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a biodegradable, sustainable and food safe polymer made from organic sources.
It is the most common used filament in FFF 3D printers for its ease of use and wide range of applications, specially those not mechanically or thermally demanding. Definitely a good starting point to learn about the 3D Printing manufacturing process.
Compatibility: All BCN3D Printers.
Applications
Architectural mockups
Aesthetic, concept models
Investment casting molds
Low mechanically demanding prototypes
Properties
Detailed and glossy surface quality
Good tensile strength
Rigid, fragile behaviour
Good UV resistance
Withstand operating temperatures up to 50°C
Odor-free, ideal for educational and office environments
TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane) is an elastomeric copolymer, made up of alternating soft and hard blocks, which give hardness and flexibility at the same time.
PET-G (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) is a polyester thermoplastic characterised by a good balance of tensile strength and elongation at break.
PET CF15 (Polyethylene Terephthalate carbon fiber reinforced) is the easiest material filled with carbon fiber to print and can be printed directly on glass.
Ultimaker Tough PLA Ultimaker Tough PLA is a technical PLA (polylactic acid) material with toughness similar to ABS. Ideal for reliably printing functional prototypes and tooling at larger sizes, our Tough PLA offers the same safe and easy use as regular PLA.
Only for Smart Cabinet in use together with Epsilon W50
The extension tubes are suitable for guiding the filament from inside the Smart Cabinet’s dehumidifier chamber to the extruders located on the back of the 3D printer.
